Eclipse: Remote IDE for Minix

I am Cpe student working on Minix for academic projects...I tried
Eclipse C/C++ IDE with Remote system explorer add on to access minix
filesystem. I am using Minix 3_1_2a on VMware Player on WinXp with
Eclipse.

am unable to connect to Minix file system...error is
"Session.connect: java.net.SocketException: Connection reset"

Plz suggest something to resolve the present situation or recommend
some other GUI IDE...

I got Linux(open Suse) as well...i can use QEMU or Virtual Box on
Linux...

PLz let me know how u guys develop code for Minix...

I just install minix_3.1.4a on virtualbox on WinXP, and directly use
vim and gcc for my c code.

Hi,

I'm afraid most of people here are TUI guys who loves consoles and terminals.
Personally, I ssh to my Minix environment and use vim editor.

Hi,

You can enable the MINIX FTP server. Copy /etc/rc.daemons.dist to /etc/
rc.daemons, then delete the servers you don't need. Set a password for
the user you want to FTP with (using passwd). After a reboot, you can
use FTP to connect to MINIX. Some editors support editing directly on
FTP, maybe Eclipse does too.

Are you experiencing any problems logging to your MINIX3 via ssh? The
connection that Remote Control is making to connect to the minix is pure
ssh. So if you don't have any problems with the simple ssh command,
eclipse should work fine.

thanx all...
dear alen...i now able to connect to minix
but still i cant mount the minix file system...it saying "Expand
Failed--Try again"
i just installed ssh and tried to read the man page...but its too
lenghty to read...
wat do u mean by "simple ssh command"...i just logged in and trying to
mount minix...
do i need to configure something to ssh in minix so as to allow
Eclipse to do its job!!
