Hello,

I have been trying to find the axial and lateral resolution of the V4 miniscope in scattering medium (similar to brain tissue). I wasn't successful but maybe wasn't looking at the right places. Does anybody know these specifications or can point me in the right direction?

Thanks a lot in advance for your help.

Cheers,
Michael

Hi Michael,
This will be highly dependent on how deep you are imaging through tissue and somewhat dependent on the brain region. We don't have any standardized quantification of this but roughly speaking, the lateral resolution starts to degrade past single cell resolution once you are imaging through 250um to 300um of tissue. If you are asking because you would like to resolve structures smaller than a cell body, I can tell you that in our experience this is not possible even through 10's of um of tissue.
