Hi UCLA Miniscope-ers,

Has anyone tried to run the MiniAn analysis software on the Hoffman2 cluster? I tried loading the anaconda3 module, creating a new environment, then installing Minian with conda, but it just gets stuck in the "solving environment" step. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

See below for a screenshot of the terminal and the commands used.

PS - I've successfully installed other packages using conda on Hoffman2, so I'm guessing it's some sort of compatibility issue with the version of Anaconda and MiniAn or other dependencies?

I found that I was unable even on my Ubuntu 20.04 installation to just install the environment (see https://github.com/denisecailab/minian/issues/197). Try installing the packages a few at a time.

I'm not sure if the Hoffman2 cluster will really give you any noticeable improved performance over just running Minian on a reasonably high-performance analysis computer with quick access to data drives. Do you have a specific reason for wanting to use the Hoffman2 cluster?
