Dear All,

I was wondering whether I can use the miniscope software to just have a bunch of behavioral cameras synchronized to each other. Adding many in the UserConfig file is easy, and they get timestamped for each frame of each camera. Are these timestamps reliable when I am not using a DAQ box? Anything I should worry for?
I will simply shoot an led blink into one of the cameras and so have it synced to another system. I know the time resolution will then only be as good as the frame interval, but its a quick and dirty way for some preliminary results.

All the best,
Mark

Hi Mark,
The timestamps recorded by the Miniscope software are accurate and stable up to a few milliseconds. Since, as you said, the best time resolution you can end up achieving is determined by the frame interval, the timestamps should be more than accurate enough for your needs.
