Hi All,

Just wanted to share here that the SMA to U.FL cables from this supplier work very well, at least with V4 Miniscopes:

After I encountered some sudden problems with our self soldered cables (which worked before) and reading through the many postings here that report serious damage to miniscopes from broken cables etc. we looked for cables to purchase and decided to give it a shot. Also, if we built the cables ourselves the stuff from cooner wires plus the connectors are actually more expensive, at least here in Australia.

Importantly, the 1.13mm diameter makes the cable flexible enough to allow mice free movement, but stringent enough to make our dragonfly commutator move, which was not the case with the cooner wire.

Cheers
Marek

Just wanted to add that we have also started using the Data-alliance cables. Their 10, 12, 26 and 28inch cables work great for our needs. HOWEVER, when we ordered some custom cables we suddenly experienced a significant drop in quality. We are performing our experiments in rats (versus mice), which means cables need to be pretty robust. The short ones rarely broke, but the custom ones are really quick to break off the golden UFL connector. We will be returning since the company required us to purchase $500 worth of the custom cables before we could test them out. We wouldn't have been upset if the smaller cables had been of inferior quality, but the sudden drop in quality for a significant purchase was very disappointing. But, your mileage may vary.
