Head orientation issues with software v1.11 and v1.10, but not 1.02

Is anyone else having issues with the head orientation working on the Miniscope V4 with v1.11 or v1.10 of the software? The Miniscope image doesn't spin, nor does data get written to the headOrientation.csv file (it's just timestamps and zeros). It works fine with v1.02, but not with the newer versions.

I am not aware of this issue. Does a little red '!' show up next to the Miniscope Logo that normally would rotate in the Miniscope DAQ Software?

Hi Daniel,

I don't see an exclamation point. Here are two videos showing it on v1.02 and v1.11 (which says v.1.10 when Help is clicked, not sure if that's been brought up before):

I've tried it on a laptop and a desktop now, with the same results. Everything seems to work fine except the head orientation data in v1.11 and v1.10. See attached example file.

Hi Eric, 

Have you found a solution to this? We are running into the same issue. It works fine with version 1.02, but nothing happens with .10 or .11 - no error message or red exclamation mark, just no movement from the little miniscope logo and a bunch of zeros in the csv file.

No, unfortunately not. It's not mission-critical for my current project, so I haven't spent much time on it.

Do you also have a Labmaker miniscope + Open Ephys DAQ? I wonder if it's the combination of those two devices that's causing the issue, since it doesn't seem to be a common problem, and since it doesn't depend on the computer I'm using. Just a guess.

I am encountering the same issue: no movement from the little miniscope logo and a bunch of zeros in the csv file. Otherwise, my recording is totally fine. I would love to know if there's any updates regarding this discussion, that's why I am replying here. I acquire both of my miniscope components and DAQ from Open Ephys.

Hi Eric and Albert, 

So sorry for not following up on this! We acquired the scope from Open Ephys, and have DAQ both from Open Ephys and Lab Maker. It seems to bescope issue, and not a DAQ issue, because we have other scopes that register the head direction correctly. But I haven't tried to solve the issue on the faulty scope because it works otherwise perfectly fine, and it's also not critical for our current projects.

Thank you for the update! I have assembled 3 scopes from Open Ephys parts. So far I have no luck in getting one that can register head direction... 

But I will definitely try to investigate along this direction, if no one else appears with a better solution first!

I've now tried a miniscope from Open Ephys and a miniscope from Labmaker (both v4.41), paired with a DAQ v3.3 from Open Ephys, and both miniscopes have the same issue--the head orientation only works with v1.02 of the software.
