Hi guys,

I'm trying to upload a sketch to the Minion, and so far it's not working.  I'm using version 1.01 of the IDE and have just installed the driver (le sigh, using windows).  In the Device Manager it appears (on COM Port 12).

When I select Leonardo as the kind of device in the IDE (Tools / Board / Leonardo) the port that is used is also COM12.  But when I try and upload the sketch, the error message reads:
Couldn't find a Leonardo on the selected port.  Check that you have the correct port selected.  If it is correct, try pressing the board's reset button after initiating the upload.
The light on R2 the Minion flashes when I'm uploading, so I'm thinking I might have the wrong driver.  Any help or suggestions welcome.

... Never mind.  It seems that I needed to restart Windows for the drivers to work (or something).  Ah, the old switch it off and on again trick.

Also, surprisingly, there is enough voltage to run a 5v servo.well enough for my mini robot.  :)

...

and now we've started freezing during the upload.  I'm guessing it's for the same reason the LeoStick does it:

Starting to become very frustrating.  I don't have a Linux computer, and tbh think MinionCity should have allowed plenty of time in the bootloader code for all the sketches to upload, even for those of us who are using Windows.  :(

I am using Win 7 with the minion and haven't seen this problem yet.  My sketch sizes have been around 10,500 bytes...

...Also,I am using Arduino 1.0.3.  Not sure if that makes any difference.

Me neither.  Where did you get it from - I'll give it a go.  Thanks!

Arduino 1.03 is the latest version available from the Arduino site:  http://arduino.cc/en/Main/Software

Which driver are you using for the Minion? I tried installing the Leonardo driver included with 1.0.3 for it, but it's causing my compueer to BSOD.

I am using the Leonardo driver included with 1.0.3... and am using Win 7 Home Premuim, 64 bit running on AMD Phenom, a pretty basic machine.  So far (fingers crossed), no BSOD.

I was using the ones with 1.01 - no issues with it either.
