Dear ONOS and Mininet-WiFi Research Community,

I'm Gayan Jayasekara, and I have recently completed my Master’s degree in Computer Networks and Systems Security at the University of Hertfordshire. My MSc research project, titled “Real-Time SDN-Based DDoS Detection and Mitigation Using ONOS Controller with Machine Learning Integration,” was successfully implemented using ONOS (v4.2.14), Mininet, and a Python-based Random Forest machine learning model. The solution integrates both Java (for ONOS components) and Python (for ML detection) to achieve hybrid, real-time DDoS detection and mitigation in SDN environments.

Now that I have successfully completed my MSc project, I am eager to continue contributing to the SDN research community. I am open to joining or collaborating on any kind of ONOS, SDN, or Mininet-WiFi related research or development projects, not limited to anomaly detection. My interests include SDN-based security, controller design, network optimization, IoT integration, wireless SDN, and machine learning-driven network management.

I would be very grateful for any opportunity to participate, collaborate, or assist with current or upcoming projects within this group. I am open to contributing remotely, whether in research, experimentation, system testing, documentation, or software development.

Please feel free to reach out to me if there are any ongoing research collaborations or open initiatives where I could meaningfully contribute.

Thank you all for your time and for maintaining such an inspiring and innovative research community.

Warm regards,

Warm regards,
Gayan Jayasekara
