Hello,

I'm new to Mininet-WiFi and have been reading your book on the subject. However, after running the meshAP.py example, I'm experiencing some connectivity issues:

  1. Station-to-Station Communication: Stations (STAs) are unable to ping each other.

  2. AP-to-Station Communication: While access points (APs) can communicate with each other and stations can ping the APs, the APs are unable to ping the stations.

Could you provide guidance on how to resolve these issues?

Hello,

1. Station-to-Station Communication: Stations (STAs) are unable to ping each other.

To diagnose this issue effectively, please provide as much relevant information as possible. A common mistake is forgetting to stop the Network Manager, which can interfere with connectivity. Additionally, inconsistencies in describing the issue often make troubleshooting more difficult. Could you also clarify the communication between APs (Access Points)? For example, are APs able to forward packets between stations, or is the issue limited to direct STA-to-STA communication?

2. AP-to-Station Communication: While access points (APs) can communicate with each other and stations can ping the APs, the APs are unable to ping the stations.

Have you checked whether the AP has an assigned IP address? Anyway, I recommend reviewing how Open vSwitch (OVS) works, as this could be a key factor in the issue.
