Dear Alberto,

It's always great to extend mn-wifi to technologies such as LTE, 5G, and others. We do have plans and we are open to PR. I started with something related to this with https://github.com/intrig-unicamp/mininet-wifi/blob/master/examples/wwan.py thanks to https://github.com/torvalds/linux/blob/master/drivers/net/wwan/wwan_hwsim.c - you can find some discussion at https://www.mail-archive.com/modemmana...@lists.freedesktop.org/msg06793.html.

It's worth mentioning that you can still work with many LTE/5G scenarios with the current mn-wifi. For example, last week we conceived an automated closed loop control with mn-wifi and ORAN's RIC and ML techniques aimed at handover.

Dear Mininet-WiFi maintainers,
I hope the day is going great!

I have been involved in studying 5G networks recently for my thesis as
well, I would like to know if there is any plans for extending
Mininet-Wifi to cellular technologies (4/5G, 3G, cellular, LTE...). In
case there are no plans, I would like to know if it would be a good fit
for Mininet Wifi for future pull requests.
Finally, in case you know of any simulator or framework that can be
integrated easily with Mininet, or connect it through python, I am happy
to know about it. I could not find anything like "Mininet 5G", so that
is why I am asking on how you guys see the support for it.

Best regards,
Alberto Fuentes Contreras.
