Hi

I am using mininet-wifi to test the performance of an ad-hoc network. I would like to change the bandwidth of ad-hoc links. Nothing I do seems to work and the bandwidth remains unchanged every time I run the simulation. Can you explain why this is happening and how can I set the maximum bandwidth on Ad-hoc links?

The average bandwidth in the host machine is 5 Gbps but when I run the mininet-wifi simulation I only get 20 Mbps bandwidth.

1. Does the wifi mode you are using support more than 20Mb?
2. How many hops does the network topology have?
3. You can set the bitrate with iw

I am using mode 'a' with ad-hoc channel 36. The current network has a maximum of 2-3 hops.
I tried setting the bitrate with iw and iwconfig but I am still getting the same bandwidth when I test using iperf.
My configuration is mostly similar to the adhoc.py example. Here is my ad-hoc link configuration:

net.addLink(sta1, cls=adhoc, intf='sta1-wlan0', ssid='adhoc-net', mode='a', channel=36, txpower=17)

I am new to mininet-wifi. Is there a way I can specify a desired bandwidth for ad-hoc links or increase the bandwidth to 80Mbps?

You may know that every hop on the network takes one-half of the
bandwidth away, right?

I really appreciate it if you describe the commands you are using with
the expected results.

Are you new to wifi too? How can you reach 80Mbps with mode a? You can
modify the signal table
(https://github.com/intrig-unicamp/mininet-wifi/blob/master/mn_wifi/data/signal_table_ieee80211ax),
in particular PER, if you really wish to reach such a throughput.
