Good evening sir

I want to know can we make Access Points mobile in Mininet-wifi? By default in the network, access points are connected with ethernet interfaces between them .
When i execute ' net ' command in mininet-wifi i can see that different access points are connected with ethernet interfaces

mininet-wifi > ap1: ap1-eth1 : ap2-eth2
                                   ap2-eth2: ap3-eth2   etc

Is it possible to make nodes with ethernet interfaces mobile?
 How can we add only wireless interface in Access Points ?

Kindly address my above queries sir

thanks and regards

thank you for your earlier reply sir, I understood we can make it mobile but my doubt is

Aps are connected to each other by ethernet interfaces
 when I run net command in Mininet-Wifi what I see is

Mininet-Wifi> net
                         sta1 sta1-wlan0 :wifi
                 dr1 lo  :  dr1-wlan1 :wifi  dr1-eth2 :dr2-eth2 dr1:eth3
                                                             dr2-wlan1: wifi  dr2-eth2:dr1-eth2 dr2:eth3:dr3:eth2

 Q1)   Can we make devices having ethernet interfaces mobile, as APs are connected to each other by ethernet interfaces?

My second doubt is

Q2)    How can we enable only wireless interface between Access Points ? I have defined link =wmediumd like this
*******************************************************************************************************************************************************
net = Mininet_wifi(controller=RemoteController, accessPoint=OVSKernelAP,
                       link=wmediumd, wmediumd_mode=interference,autoStaticArp=True)

*******************************************************************************************************************************************************

My 3rd doubt is

Q3) How can we determine whether there is interference among Access Points or not ? When I run my controller file and run ping command in it some packets gets dropped and I am not able to figure out reason for it .?

Kindly address my above queries sir , I will be highly obliged ,
I am attaching a few screen shots of the above discussed problem for your reference

Thanks and regards

You have to use ovs-ofctl

> Q2 How can we enable only wireless interface between Access Points

You can use 4address - honestly, you have mentioned no wifi mode. It's really hard to say how you can do something if you don't provide more details.

> Q3) How can we determine whether there is interference among Access Points or not ? When I run my controller file and run ping command in it some packets gets dropped and I am not able to figure out reason for it .?

What would you do in the real world?

ps. Please use this mailing list for questions about mn-wifi. I don't reply to private messages.

Sir could you please explain a little more about this , I am still not clear regarding the fact that if multiple Access Points are connected by ethernet interfaces to each other , how can they be made mobile?
**************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************

regarding your suggestions of using ovs-ofctl ------  we use this command to check flows entries inside switches ,
 how can it be helpful for my problem ?

eagerly waiting for the reply, kindlly help me resolve my issue

Thanks and regards

thankyou sir , but since Access points are connected to each other with ethernet interfaces, can devices with ethernet interfaces be made mobile?

Sir the wifi mode I am using is 'g'

I'm getting confused. Firstly you mention Ethernet and then wifi. What do you really want to do??

good evening sir

Sir basically I am working on mobile  multi drone scenario, I have taken my Access Points as drones and have added mobility to it , sir my confusion is  -
 when I analyse connections on Mininet -wifi command line interface, i see that Access Points have wireless as well as ethernet interface ,

 Stations are connected to Access Points with wireless interface and Access Points  are connected to each other (different Access Points ) with ethernet interface by default.

I want to know whether the nodes/Access Points with ethernet interfaces can be made mobile?

Sir I am attaching my topology here for your reference, kindly have a look

Are drones connected via cables? Does this make sense?

no sir
Access Points/ drones  are not connected by cables
i have used addLink function to establish connection between them like this

net.addLink(dr1, dr2, bw=100)
 net.addLink(dr2, dr3,bw=100
 net.addLink(dr3, dr4,bw=100)

ideally they should be connected by wireless interface

but sir

when i verify the configuration on Mininet-wifi CLI using ' net 'command

i see ethernet interfaces between drones
*******************************************88
  mininet-wifi> net
sta1 sta1-wlan0:None
 sta2 sta2-wlan0:None
sta3 sta3-wlan0:None
dr1 lo: dr1-eth1:dr2-eth1
 dr2 lo: dr2-eth1:dr1-eth1 dr2-eth2:dr3-eth1
dr3 lo: dr3-eth1:dr2-eth2
**************************************************8
kindly check the attachment , Actually this is my confusion, ideally between drones there should be wireless interface only , but why are they connected with each other with ethernet interface like this   dr1 lo: dr1-eth1:dr2-eth1

what should i do to enable only wireless interface between them.

I am sorry if I am not able to make my point clear to you properly,

let me know if you need any other info

This is a wired connection:
net.addLink(dr1, dr2, bw=100)

I see no wifi connection being configured in addLink :(

sir
wifi mode       "g"
 I have specified the mode while adding access Point to my topology

dr1 = net.addAccessPoint('dr1', mac='00:00:00:00:00:07',battery=100, ssid='ssid-dr1',
                            mode="g", channel="1", passwd='123456789a',
                            encrypt='wpa2', position='10,30,0',datapath='user')

I am really sorry for multiple messages, but I was not able to understand by myself and was not able to establish wireless connection between drones .
Let me know if you need any other information.

Thanks and regards

Dear Alka,

Let me rephrase my question: what kind of D2D communication are you referring to? Can you provide D2D communication between two APs just by setting mode g?

Respected sir

I want to make wifi connection between Access Points .The mode "g" is wrote earlier was wifi mode.

SIr I referred to examples present in Mininet-wifi , to write code and establish link connection and there addLink function was used to establish links.

, I am sorry for multiple messages actually I am new to this topic and am not able to establish  wifi connection between my access Points which is needed for my work

regards
