How may I change the background color for text input areas and messages?

Just wondering what CSS to use to change the default bright-white background for emails, text-input areas, check boxes, etc.

(I'm actually a bit surprised that this isn't already an option in the Minimalist for Gmail or Google Calendar extensions. Which are both awesome, to say the least.)

OH man. Me too. Or at least change the text color. I have white text in a white input box and would rather have an off gray for the text input areas.

Isn't this a Theme issue?  Not quite sure how theme's are built, however.

I'd love a guide to all the CSS/id's/classes used by Gmail!

Old article but the custom theme is still there under settings>themes and looks useful.
