looking to increase the width of the Gmail sidebar

hi all!

i've been a user of Minimalist for a while now (love it! thank you all!) but recently went through a re-org of my Gmail labels/folders, and i went a bit mad with sub-folders and whatnot.

so i'm looking to increase the anemic width of the Gmail sidebar to something a bit wider. i've read through the docs and know how to add custom CSS, but i'm not at all sure which element i need to increase, and how to do it!

i've searched this forum and done my google-fu due diligence to see if anyone has mentioned this before, but i came up with naught. 

might anyone be able to point me in the right direction?
