asterisk (*) symbol not displaying when activated with left shift

I've been using Minimak 12 since 2014 and love it. 

However, I've just today realised that what I thought was "keyboard ghosting" is actually a problem with the layout file for PKL on my PC

I haven't really changed it except for some UK localisations:

When I use left shift and the 8 key, no keypress is sent. It works fine with QWERTY.

Does anyone else experience this?

So, I re-downloaded the files and that didn't help. It is definitely a problem with my layout file somehow. So I started with a blank config file and manually re-made the UK localisation changes and that's fixed the problem. Thanks for the suggestion.
