I think the problem is:
Informations never be clear.

free version is not the same as demonstration version
debug version is not the same as demonstration version
If anything is free, ok, it is free.
It changed to paid, ok, at least there exists a date about this.
The old version, without new changes, continues free.
Not sure if it is needed to change name, to do not create confusion.

If users read the mail on 2025.07.02, they can confirm that minimum donation for HMG 25.07 is $50, I do not know why they are creating text about $100

The confusion was made.
We can't talk about a free version, if the free version will generate even more work for the developer, receive less and working more will not be a good solution.
At the same time, insisting on this way end up forcing a commercial version, or even at the end of everything.

I have public projects too. Some users consider public projects to be like having a slave at their disposal. Public projects are for collaboration, not slavery.
And it is not a job that can be done full time.

Time ago a user asked if the hmg pro version would contain Brasil's eletronic invoice requirements..... he wants someone from another country to do things of his country... $50 dollars to translate thousands of documentation pages, understand documentation, make the service, and support... in addition to working at hmg itsself. He wants a slave... I considered that it wasn't even worth saying that my public project already did this for many years.

Seems to me that the only option would be a frozen free version.
Any other option will create extra work to developer.

Note:
I collaborate when possible on OOHG
I collaborate when possible on HWGUI
I already made a donation to HMG Extended, Grigory has done a good job
I use Harbour.
Libraries use Harbour.
I use GTWVG + FIVEWIN + multithread, and because it is possible EXE have HWGUI too.
May be some day I can add all.
For those that can ask:  why ?
My answer is:   why not ? harbour is all

And which is the champion lib ?
Either way, all of them together are unbeatable.

Just like programmers.
Nobody knows everything, it is the union of all programmers that makes the difference.

Does anyone have any construtive suggestion ?
Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do that are better than what Grigory did ?

Witam wszystkich,

Hello everyone,
I'm convinced, even certain, that Gregory is a great programmer, but a poor strategist, and his actions will lead to the project's demise.
Personally, I'm looking for a different solution to the problem Gregory forced upon me, although I'm convinced there will be no continuation.
It is with great embarrassment that I feel forced to abandon the Harbour-MiniGui project.
Unfortunately, I'm not sure what Gregory will do in the future.
After such radical actions, I'm starting to worry whether there might be some mechanism built into the compiler that will halt the program at some point and demand a fee.
It's not easy to find another path after twenty years. My colleagues' ideas for other projects are interesting, and I'm sure the group will find the right, fee-free path.
I wish everyone the best of luck.

Hello  José,

Thanks a lot for your support and your consideration.

> Does anyone have any construtive suggestion ?
Yes, I have this.

I will revert the MiniGUI build to its previous state in the next release:
- free standard build without any restrictions (along with all source code);
- paid Pro build for interested developers.

To Krzysztof:
have never made any destructive actions in the MiniGUI standard installation.
I really appreciate your support and interest in Harbour MiniGUI.
I apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Thank you for your attention.

Kind regards,
Grigory Filatov

I agree with Quintas, make an open free version and that's it. And keep updating the professional version, then when the programmer really needs it he will "buy it", when I can I will make my contributions as I did a long time ago, hugs to all!

and friends of the group, let's organize ourselves to improve contributions to Grigory,
because it's a huge job to maintain the project as he does, let's also have a little more
awareness on our part, and give due importance to Grigory's work

Not sure if I can help on anything, I have my knowledge limits.
On hwgui I have write access on source-forge, I use GIT, setup to use windows/ANSI on my machine and save on linux/UTF-8 format.
No problem using this setup,
On git windows I can see on timeline: local position, github position and source-forge position, when there are pending updates.
No problem with codepage using this setup.

Most part of my contribuition on hwgui and oohg was to format source code on samples.
Only basic changes on hwgui code like change DrawIcon() to DrawIconEx() to use PNG and resize options.
As I said, my knowledage is limited, but within that limit I can help with something.

(need change position to last source-forge commits)

position.png

Now same position for local, github and source-forge
All is updated now, with same content and commit history.
On this way I can change anything, save on github, github compiles all on windows and linux, and if all ok, I save on github too.
On my machine I can test on windows only, then I create the test on github machine for linux.

Note:
on github workflow can attach the zip of the result, it is an option to automate the creation of a build.
The zip is not part of the project, it is only available on github workflow to download, or to reuse, and to github users only.
As example, a workflow can build harbour and save as zip, another workflow load this zip build library and save a zip with library, or library+harbour+c compiler.
It is a way to save tools too, like to have pendrive collection on github.
And you can upload to a ftp, but remember that unencrypted password will be visible.
