mechanism. I wouldn't be surprised if there's bugs in some cases when
attempting to use the system within GCC, but it should still be
possible to at least make limited use of them from within GCC (not
that I would. I was hoping to find an OS hook that would let me
implement user-level preemption, for a personal OS experiment).
