Thanks for sharing! That's a good summary of the situation I'd say, although with a working MSVC + gfortran combo for SciPy we now have another option. Not sure which one will be the winner in the end. Technically probably mingwpy is preferable, but it will depend more on how much effort is being spent rather than purely technical considerations.
