Netflix started out slowly and solely operated in the US for its first decade or so. It finally expanded internationally with Canadian Netflix in 2010, and then there was no stopping. After a massive 2016 expansion, Netflix is now available in most countries, except China, Crimea, Syria, Russia, and North Korea. When it comes to China, not wanting to miss out on this massive market, Netflix has pushed for licensing deals instead of having an actual presence in the country.
Although Netflix is available in most countries, the catalog of shows and movies varies greatly depending on your region. Aside from having different titles available, some regions have a very small selection. This is due to the different licensing agreements in each region. Here are the top twelve international Netflix libraries in terms of the number of shows and movies available (source: JustWatch.com).
Using a VPN to access US Netflix on vacation is easy no matter where you go in the world. The only caveat is that you must pick a VPN that works, and in 2024 there are very few left that can access Netflix reliably.

Note: MediaStreamer is not a VPN and does not offer the same security and privacy benefits as a VPN. MediaStreamer does not have a graphical user interface and you cannot change locations on MediaStreamer. It is, however, faster than a VPN and is compatible with certain streaming devices that do not work with a VPN, such as older Apple TV models and certain smart TVs and gaming consoles. Note that only U.S. Netflix is streamable on MediaStreamer.
Hello,
I recently got a HDSPe RayDAT card, and migration of the DAW and all other music related software went without a hitch. However, I ran into an odd problem with the Netflix Windows app, as this is also my daily machine.
If I have the interface set to 48 kHz / 24 bit (which is my working sample rate), with "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device" checked on the Speakers WDM device, Netflix fails to play any audio. It will play bursts of noise when jumping to a location in the video, and stops all other audio streams on the system when starting up.
If I change the rate to 44.1 kHz or 96 kHz, or if I block exclusive control at 48 kHz, Netflix will play normally. Notably the app has no audio settings apart from choice of 2.0 or 5.1 soundtrack, which has no effect on the issue.
What could be wrong here? I would assume Netflix content to be in 48 kHz, so maybe it is trying to play a bit-perfect stream when the system is set to that rate, and fails at it. I have tested WASAPI playback at both 44.1 and 48 kHz with Foobar2000 and had no issues there. Also Netflix via browser works fine at any system sample rate.
Netflix use compression in many different ways for streaming depending on bandwidth.
they say up to 640 kbps at 5.1 surround but they don't tell about Bit or kHz sampling rate.
You have to give the control to Netflix and be happy when it works.
We use the provision to move installed apps in Windows 10/11 to change the download location of Netflix. When you move the Netflix app to a different drive using this provision, Netflix saves all downloaded videos to the new location (drive).
Step 3: Click on the Move button and then select the drive where you would like to save the Netflix app and Netflix downloads. Please make sure that the drive you just selected has plenty of free space. Finally, click on the Move button again to move the Netflix app.
Note that the app is moved to the root of the selected drive. Windows 10 will automatically create a new folder called WindowsApps at the root of the drive and move the Netflix app there. You cannot select a folder under the selected drive as the new location.
Method 1 is not applicable on Windows 11. (Move is greyed out)
Method 2 is applicable, we uninstalled the Netflix App, changed all from C to D. Restart, install Netflix App again, but no change to Netflix. Still installing and downloading on C.
I tried the method 2. Netflix was then installed in my E drive. Then I tried to download and I got an error saying that I have downloads on too many devices. I checked my PC and saw that it had now been installed in both the C and E drives. I am stuck

All it takes is a few clicks and you can enjoy your favorite Netflix shows while traveling. It's important to note that using a VPN may violate Netflix's terms and conditions, and you may receive a warning message if you try to watch Netflix with a VPN.
