I am trying to building a large work area for students to use...but that can also be a controlled environment.  The new version does seem to be so different.  I am trying to locate all of the old tools that I used to use!  Any help would be appreciated!

Hi - Can you describe what is missing? I assume you have made the switch from the older Mojang version to Microsoft?

So in the Older Mojang version there was an option for the teacher to use the build option as well as a fill mode.  This allowed the teacher to build structures quickly when setting up build zones or buildings in general.  Sadly...it wasn't my choice to switch.  Sadly...I like the older version better as there were more options for the teacher.

I have been doing something similar with coding, which allows you to do exactly the same thing. The agents build slowly, but it is also possible to "beam in" large structures using the code section. It is pretty easy.

So this may sound crazy...the beam in idea?  Where do you beam in from?  I've been using the coordinates to fill build areas, but it is so time consuming...  Sadly...my computer was fried during a power outage and I lost everything...
So now I'm stating fresh.  Any help would be appreciated.  In the past 2 evening, I've spent about 6-7 hours building.

This is a little hard to describe.... within the coding section of Minecraft, you can simply put in code for cuboid of a certain size, for example. When activated in the chat section (this is how you engage coding events), that object appears fully formed. I hope that this makes sense.

You should be able to find numerous YouTube videos on doing this. Take a look at EduElfie’s channel. Not sure he has anything specifically on this topic but it may be integrated into his other videos.

I think that it is fair to say that it takes a bit of time to wrap your head around the coding bit in Minecraft EDU, but it's great once you get the hang of it.

They have decent documentation online:
