Dear fellow Minecraft-Teachers,

as I somehow don't get really a excited about the new MS Minecraft Education Edition, I am wondering, if there is a (legal) way of still using the old MineCraftEDU.
Does anyone know, if its possible to connect the normal Java-Edition (with the proper version and Mods) to a MinecraftEDU server?
This way all the kids could have a properly licensed Minecraft version, but I could still go and use all me prepared MinecraftEDU words.

best regards
Gregor

It's possible but sadly, it's still not legal since it would involve redistributing the MCEDU main jar file, and that's not allowed. This is due to MCEDU being hardcoded and not a regular forge mod like you would expect. If it were a forge mod, someone would have even been able to update it because it wouldn't be against the TOS even if Microsoft had bought it.
