We have been setting up Minecraft Education Edition for the first time and are getting very frustrated. Having assigned the 27 licenses some of the students are unable to use the them as it keeps asking them to change passwords or says the accounts are not recognised. Others have managed to get them to work by clicking all sorts of buttons and changing passwords (not quite sure how they did it), so now they are in a the same world as me. But when I try to open the Classroom app I get
Status: not connected, run the following command in M:EE to connect: /wsserver ws://
10.0.14.75:1075 So there is no way to guide or set tasks for the students. They are just running around doing their own thing.
Have tried entering a world and pasting this but it did not work. Have also tried the steps below that I found online, but still no luck. Have tried a few places but noone at Microsoft seems to be replying and I can't find any "official" help online about what to do if it doesn't open the way you expect.
Can anyone out there help or point me to a Microsoft contact that can please. Am almost at the point of giving up after several hours of getting nowhere, but the students are really keen so I don't want to disappoint them. Thanks
Here's the steps I found online:
1. Go to the start menu
2. Just type in on your keyboard: command prompt
3. Right click on it and click on Run as an Administrator
4. Copy this command and paste it in: CheckNetIsolation.exe LoopbackExempt -a -n=Microsoft.MinecraftEducationEdition_8wekyb3d8bbwe
5. It may take a few attempts to try and paste the command in (to paste it in press right click on your mouse) but once you do, press enter on your keyboard
6. If it says ok, then close the window
7. Launch the Classroom Mode app
8. Sign in, and wait for "Not connected" message
9. Launch M:EE (Minecraft: Education Edition) and sign in
10. Enter a world you want to host
11. Enter the command from the Classroom App by pressing / in minecraft and type the command (You may experience lag when you enter the command)
12. Once the Classroom App shows a map of the world and other things you're done
(You will have to enter the /wsserver ws://: command in minecraft every time you want to use the Classroom App)
