I have edited the config file to remove the creatures that I thought were annoying or would cause lag to the server without adding any benefit.  I have also found that entering the GUI crashes the server when am connected to the Minecraft Edu server.

If anyone has worked with this mod, I would appreciate any help.  There are creatures I would like to add to some worlds.

Hi Scott - did you get help with this?  I'm not a huge fan of the dev because of his monetization choices, but my colleagues and I have worked with this mod before and tweaked things...

Configuring Mo'Creatures can be tricky, I've had more luck with editing the files in the CustomSpawner folder, rather than the MoCreatures folder. Don't try to change the settings while on the server, the Mo'Creatures option menu is for single-player only. Without getting into a lengthy explanation, to change settings: close everything, edit the config file in the server directory then copy this file to all the clients.

If you are just looking for some animals to add to your world, I would suggest LotsOMods by TheLarsinator. It adds animals, not monsters. This mod is a bit simpler, less features but less options to configure. Plus it has PENGUINS! XD

I'm in the process of testing TheLarcinator's mods, so far they all work great with MinecraftEdu, except the Extended Villages mod (it might just be my setup, but the server crashes when loading the custom villager skins, turning them off in the config file doesn't seem to help).

I am working on an article/tutorial, but no need to wait for me! Go check out LotOMobs, it might be better suited to your purpose:

Good luck,
