I'm starting to make a Pixelmon map. But why does my Pignite disappear when I sent it out? All wild Pixelmon are fine. My guess is that it's a setting on Edu that's causing it. But I tried lots of settings.

Hey Adam,

Seems to work for me.  I used the "lightweight" version when I set mine up just now.  Honestly, I have no idea how to play but i did send my pokemon out and retrieve him multiple times.  The only setting that seemed to affect anything was turning off animals.  The pokemon were not affected by the monsters or villagers settings.

So Adam, are you working with a teacher on this project?  Sounds interesting!

...and I have no idea how I got that feather, either.

Good luck,
Matt

Yes, I am working on a project. A server map. The messages for sending & retrieving Pignite are working just fine. I don't think he's just not rendering. He doesn't make any noise or shadow or anything. I did try turning on and off all the teacher settings (with my teacher's help, of course). Still no help. I do see Pignite for a split-second, and hear his noise, but nothing after that.

Weird, my pokemon worked fine.  When I put him down he went and ran around until I retrieved him.  Maybe try the Lightweight version?  You have the mod in the mods/1.6.4 folder in both the client and server folders, right?

Yep, I do. Otherwise, it would have crashed already. I know which mods need to be put in client and which ones need to be put in server and which ones need to be in both.

Sounds like you have mods on your client which you dont have installed on your server. If these client side mods also add entities it causes entity id mismatches which can causes crashes or just makes them invisible.

I will put a guess out there (if you have the mod on both client and server), since it works for Matt, but not for you. Get your teacher to give it a go when they are logged in as a teacher. If it works for them and not for you I would guess that maybe the pixelmon mod uses commands to summon them and you may need to get those commands added to the allowedcommands.txt so that students can use them.

Elfie.

I just tried as a student and still had no trouble with the pokemon characters...I even got into a few battles to test  and everything worked.

Given all the information I would have to agree with Noppes here Adam. If you are seeing it "blink" and then disappear...it is highly likely that you may have missed a mod on the server side.

1. If the mod was missing on the client side, you would not be able to connect as it would tell you there is a required mod.
2. I have seen it many times where you get the blink, and it is almost 100% because the mod is not on the server.

My 2 cents.

To everyone thinking I forgot to install the mod on both sides: I installed the mod on both Client and Server. I like my mods, so I know that all three mods that I use need to be on both sides: Custom NPCs, Better Storage, and Pixelmon.

Have you tried the lightweight version yet?

Can you try with just Pixelmon and no other mods installed on either server and client? Also delete the config on both your client and server

I'll try that after the weekend.
