Axes and Pickaxes are two different things. Axes are used for
hurrying the gathering of Wood-related items, like Logs, Planks,
Chests and Bookcases, but are not required for gathering them.
Pickaxes are required for the mining of any stone. What type of
Pickaxe you have limits your Pickaxe durability and the vairity of
Stone you can mine. So, if you want to mine Stone, choose a Pickaxe.
