This was a bit of a tough episode for me to watch because it marked the start of a chain of events that I've been dreading seeing play out in the series. I think both history and Shakespeare have been rather unkind to the real Richard III, and I'm really not looking forward to the final two episodes, the last one in particular. I feel like Episode 8 moved quite swiftly and covered a lot of territory, and I'm a little stumped as to how to break it down like I've been doing for the previous episodes. So for this post, I'm just going to write in regular paragraphs without headings.

Last week saw the downfall of George, Duke of Clarence, ending with his execution for treason. This week's episode opens with some informative onscreen titles to let you know that it's now 1483 (already!). Henry Tudor is all grown up, as are several of Edward and Elizabeth's children. Edward isn't looking so well in the health department, and it's not too far into the episode when it's clear that he's not going to be king for much longer. He asks for Richard while Elizabeth panics about how she's going to keep the throne within her own family. She wants her brother Anthony to rule for Prince Edward until he comes of age, but Edward names Richard Lord Protector.

Anne shows off a pretty ambitious side in this episode as well, urging Richard to punish Anthony Woodville and going so far as to exhort him to take the crown for himself. And so Richard eventually does both, ordering the executions of Anthony and Elizabeth's other son from her first marriage, Richard Grey, and ascending the throne as Richard III.

Give me an L. L! Give me an E. E! Give me a C. C! Give me an A. A! And what does it spell? leca!. Or maybe leca. Hello and welcome to On The Ledge podcast and this week's show I'm joined by houseplant royalty. Yes, I'm chatting to the Leca Queen all about expanded clay pebbles. I'm trying something new this week so if you want to see a video of Nora and I chatting about leca you can go over to YouTube and you'll see the whole video there. Stick around here if you just want to hear this chat in your ears. The two conversations are entirely similar. The only difference is here on the podcast, I've edited out a few short moments where we've kind of clashed in terms of speaking at the same time and a little bit of chat right at the end. So just to make sure that each chat is appropriate for the different format. If you want to go and look at that, it's on YouTube now and I'll put a link to it in the show notes. And if you're a Patreon subscriber at the Ledge End or Super Fan level, you can head over to Patreon where you'll find a video podcast of an extra leaf where I talk to Nora about moss poles. If you have no idea what Patreon is, it's a crowdfunding platform where you pay a monthly fee for extra stuff. You can also join for free now, or try a free 7 day trial if you want to check it out. All the details in the show notes. But let's assume you've stuck around here rather than heading over to YouTube. Welcome. I'm really excited about this episode because Nora throws down loads of super useful information about using leca as a medium for houseplants, from washing it to nutrients to flushing, all of that stuff is covered in this episode. It's so useful. I learned absolutely loads. And do go and check out the show notes at janeperrone.com where you'll find a full transcript for our chat, which you can read along to, do point out any mistakes you spot, and also useful information about leca. So do go and look at the show notes. I know I always say that, but they are really useful, so they are always worth a look. And thank you to Marmee, who has become a legend, joining my Patreon clan. I have the wheels in motion now for my festive mail out for December, so please start making sure that your postal address is correct if you are a patron, I'll send out details for how to do that. Right, let's get on with my delightful chat with Nora, the Leca Queen.

Next question. You have the opportunity to have a plant species named after you or maybe a cultivar. You know, I don't know what it's going to be. What is going to be the Nora plant or the Leca queen plant that you're going to have named after you?

Thankyou so much to Norathe Leca Queen for her wonderful presence on the show this week and you can find out more about Nora and her social media channels in the show notes at janeperrone.com and if you're a Patreon subscriber at the Ledge End or Superfan level head on over to Patreon, the app or the platform where you'll find An Extra Leaf Number 119 where I talk all things moss poles with Nora. That's all for this week's show. Thank you so much for listening - and advance warning, there will be a bonus episode for Halloween next week. A spooky, murderous episode of the show. The White Queen is a British historical drama television drama serial based on Philippa Gregory's historical novel series The Cousins' War.[4] The first episode premiered on BBC One on 16 June 2013 in the UK.[5]

The final episode of The White Queen aired on 18 August 2013 and the drama was released on DVD and Blu-ray Disc the following day. Two days later, the BBC confirmed that The White Queen was always planned as a miniseries that would not be returning for a second series.[7] However, there were two sequels in 2017 and 2019.

Bernadette McNulty, of The Daily Telegraph, commented that in the final episode, the Battle of Bosworth Field appears to take place in a forest rather than a field.[40] Mary McNamara, of the Los Angeles Times, states that in order to fit thirty years of history into ten episodes, "years collapse into minutes, intricate policy is condensed into cardboard personalities, and the characters are swiftly categorized as good or evil".[41]

Others questioned the depiction of the major characters. Amy Licence, Cecily's biographer, states that Cecily Neville, Duchess of York, is portrayed in the first episode as "straight from the pages of a novel rather than the actual proud aristocrat who asserted her own right to rule".[42] Historian Michael Hicks commented, "They've fiddled with the chronology" but added, "I can see why they decided to restrict the cast of characters, and play up the rivalry between Elizabeth and the Earl of Warwick", and also said "As with Philippa Gregory's source novels, they've done their research".[43]

Starz CEO Chris Albrecht announced in January 2014 that the network was working with White Queen screenwriter Emma Frost on the project.[67] Starz would produce the White Princess miniseries without involvement from the BBC.[67] Gregory confirmed that the project was underway in August 2015.[68] On 7 February 2016, Gregory announced on Facebook that the sequel was officially confirmed to be in production, with the scripts being written.[69] Production on the eight-episode miniseries began in June 2016.[70][71] It aired weekly on Starz from 6 April to 4 June 2017.

It's been a long journey from Greenest to Skyreach but we're closing in on the end of the first published Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition adventure, Hoard of the Dragon Queen. This article focuses on the final episode of the adventure, episode 8: Skyreach Castle.

Let's start with the biggest potential problem with this episode. This episode's encounter balance is totally screwed up. As written, your level 7 group will face off against a pair of CR 10 stone golems in one scene, a CR 13 vampire in another, multiple CR7 stone giants, and a CR 13 white adult dragon in the final battle. Because of the flat math, some groups might actually manage to get passed these encounters but it's safe to say that there was never any real intent to make these fights as challenging as they are.

A small piece of episode 8 takes place in the village of Parnast. The village has been taken over by the Cult of the Dragon and has been the last stop for the hoard before it was loaded aboard Skyreach.

The text of the episode mentions a vampire named Sandesyl and her lair. Like other encounters, this challenge level is well outside of a balanced encounter for level 7 PCs. It also doesn't make much sense and a true vampire should have a bit more foreshadowing than be placed as a simple guard who watches the upper balcony in the night.

In this episode of One Tree Thrill we find out how the girls would change their characters, what 3 questions they would ask their dogs and who would be real-life friends with Chris Keller. Plus, details on a prank Hilarie and Joy pulled during season 5!

This episode was wild and Hilarie, Sophia and Joy enjoyed every bit, all over again. The euphoria, jealousy, knowledge and everything else it packed left the girls feeling like kids again. However, there was one thing that they forgot about. Was the shock of it enough to send all those feelings crashing down? Buckle up because it's a rollercoaster ride for sure.
