I would very much like to connect with anyone who might have been
trained in MindUP and is working with children of military families. I
am especially interested in finding out how MindUP has affected this
group of children in terms of lowering stress and anxiety and
promoting resiliency.
Thanks,

Dear Marc,

The U.S. Coast Guard Homeland Security/Training Center is located in Cape
May. Approximately 67% of our children come from military families. It
fluctuates each year. I have not conducted a scientific survey on this
group. However, two years ago I submitted a video as requested by the Hawn
Foundation which included positive (of course!)comments from military
families on how the program has affected their children and families.

For this year, the teachers have included the MindUP program in their
Professional Improvement Plans in addition to two other goals. I formally
observed two teachers today teaching the MindUP program.

I just got back from Park City, Utah. Our school is involved with the
Adopt-An-Elder Navajo Indian Project. The third grade teacher and I
volunteered for the educational component of their annual Cultural Arts
event. I think my spiritual consciousness got kicked up to the next level.

Have a most enjoyable weekend....Victoria

We had so much new curriculum and a new teacher evaluation system for the teachers to learn this school year that we didn't access the Mind-Up opportunity yet. We still have that to address in the future.
