A kilogram of green plant material found in a 2700-year-old grave in
the Gobi Desert has just been identified as the world's oldest
marijuana stash, say researchers.
And tests on the marijuana reveal it possessed potent psychoactive
properties, casting doubts on the theory that hemp was only grown to
make clothing, rope and other objects.
According to the report published in the latest issue of the Journal
of Experimental Botany, it may also have been used for getting high.
