Hello all,
This is the first of two emails this week. I usually try not to send
more than one email a week but I have a lot to share and want to break
it up into two installments.
So, here goes!
We have a few new things in the shop. Ginger and I dyed yarn last
week. We dyed brushed mohair and more of the Swiss Lace silk and
merino. This is Ginger’s first time dyeing for the shop and she did
most of the mohair. Check out her work the next time you are in!
It's gorgeous!
We just got a big shipment of Duo, the chunky weight acrylic that we
had last year. We’ve got two new colors as well as lots of old
favorites. If you have trouble wearing wool or want to knit for
someone who does, this is a great yarn to try. I am very fussy about
the acrylics I carry and this one really lives up to my standards.
For spinners, we just got some alpaca and wool blend back from
Zeilinger’s. We have a dark brown that is super soft and a gray that
is a little more crisp. There isn’t much so get some while it lasts.
Sock Club
It’s time to sign up for sock club again. If you don't know about the
sock club, it is more of a sock yarn subscription than a club that
meets. I dye a special skein for you about every other month for a
total of six for the year. I use more colors and do more complex
applications than with my regular sock yarn. The skeins are inspired
by whatever moves me at that moment. I get a lot of my inspiration
from nature but there are times when I just want to play with color
and see what happens. The sock club is also still the only way to get
one of my self-patterning skeins. I do them once a year in January
for sock club members only. The cost remain $148 for the year. If you
would like your yarn shipped to you, add $30. Either come in or give
the shop a call to sign up. If you are far away you can pay me with
Paypal. Send me an email at
lu...@mindseyeyarns.com for more info.
Sign-ups are open until October 31.
Save the Date!
We have two big events coming up:
October 26, time TBA (late afternoon or evening) we will be having a
trunk show for the Juniper Moon Farms yarns with Susan Gibbs herself.
November 12 & 13, we will be having double knitting workshops with
Alasdair Post-Quinn who’s new book will be coming out any time now.
I will be sending out more details about both these events in the next
couple of days.
Meanwhile, have a good afternoon and happy knitting,
Lucy
