can't edit on my Android phone

I'm excited to start using MindMup, but after successfully starting a mindmap on my computer (SurfacePro 4 using Windows 10), when I open up that file in Google Drive on my smartphone, it only opens it up in an uneditable format (looks like a .jpg or .pdf image) on the phone, with a message along the bottom of the screen that says "Can't download; opening in web mode..."  The MindMup toolbar does appear across the top of the screen, though.  Then that quickly changes to a screen to "sign in with Google".....when I select my account, the next screen from that is blank and simply says "Please close this window".  Only way I know how to do that is to tap "return" arrow, which brings me back to list of my Google Drive files.  

What's wrong??  Please help!  Really not useful for me unless I can use it on my smartphone throughout the day.  Thank you.

try opening it using Chrome from https://drive.mindmup.com, instead of
trying to open it with the drive app.
