Dear all,
Did you ever hear about the Dutch Party for the Animals (PvdD)? It is the first political party with an animal rights, environment and compassion agenda in a national parliament (with two seats)
It existed for ten years last year and has a parliamentary representation for more than 6 years.
How is animal politics made in practice? You can have an insight into this unique phenomenon by watching the documentary DE HAAS IN THE MARATHON (The pacer in the marathon) at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=66TLYId0dNI (please use the You Tube translation button for English subtitles).
The phenomenon of animal rights parties is spreading throughout the world where the Dutch success is inspiring others (such as the Portuguese PAN with a seat in a regional parliament and the Columbian FAUNA with a seat in Medellin). The number of animal parties throughout the world is growing. Is it a lasting phenomenon?
DE HAAS IN THE MARATHON is also available on DVD and can be ordered for public presentations. Representatives of the PvdD are available to explain more about the parties history and approach.
With best wishes
