Those of you who remember the “Bridging the Hearts and Minds of Youth” conferences hosted by the University of California San Diego in the early – mid 2010’s may recall that these were a special time of learning and community building in the then-nascent field of mindfulness and youth. I remember meeting incredible educators, clinicians, researchers, parents, and more. Some of those relationships have remained important to me and have continued to grow.Huge gratitude to all of the people who organized and attended and spoke at those San Diego conferences back in the day!Chris Willard, Mark Bertin, and I are hoping to rekindle some of that spirit again, build community with others working in this area, and look back and look forward on what has changed (and what has not) in this field. Please join us, and share with your colleagues!Registration is open now: https://churchillschoolnyc.lpages.co/building-a-bridge-connecting-educators-caregivers-and-youth-through-mindfulness/Speakers: Susan Kaiser Greenland, Mark Bertin, Ofosu Jones-Quartey, Valerie Brown, Dzung Vo, Chris Willard. Half of the Saturday will be devoted to mindfulness practice in community, led by Kaira Jewel Lingo.Sneak preview: If this conference is successful, we are hoping to offer a sequel in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia, in 2026! Stay tuned!Dzung X. that many times I can make the choice to stop, to breathe, and be, and walk slowly into the mystery."
