One objective could be to enhance your visual aesthetics. Sometimes, certain objects or people in an image can distract from the main subject or overall composition. By removing them, you can create a cleaner and more visually pleasing image. The second use case to cleaning up a picture is photo retouching: In portrait photography, removing imperfections or distractions like blemishes, wrinkles, or stray hairs can help enhance the subject's appearance and create a more polished image. The last one to mention, is the object isolation: If you want to isolate a specific object or subject in an image, removing other elements can help draw attention solely to the intended focal point. This can be particularly useful in product photography or creating visual graphics.

This seems like an easy questions but i can figure out how to do this. I have a scan that is basically 100% full of different annotations, and now i want to draw a ROI on a small part of the image to measure the annotations within that ROI.
Is there a way to delete annotations outside this new ROI? or split the old annotations at the edge of the new ROI so that i can insert them into the hierarchy and be able to measure them within the new ROI? Or maybe some other way to do this?
It is a little bit difficult to envisage your project without more details, but I suspect you have two options. One, through the GUI, is to create that new annotation, select ALL of the annotations you want to potentially get rid of or intersect, and then, through the context menu, select Intersect selected.
Save before doing this.
Right, it will only get annotations which are entirely within the ROI, while detections it will only get if their centroid is within the ROI. So there may be differences in how objects are handled depending on what you create.
@Mark_Zaidi was probably on the best track, since that could eliminate the need to generate the annotations across the entire slide in the first place. Or if objects are desired, run the object creation only within the manually annotated area.
@Mike_Nelson i did some testing this afternoon and i think a combination of inverting, subtracting and/or intersecting the ROI with all the other annotations should work i just have not figured out the exact order of operations to get what i need
Getting just the annotations that overlap with your newROI annotation should speed things up as you do not need to calculate the intersection of annotations that are not within the newROI, i.e. redundant calculations.
