InThe Sims, male Adult Sims are voiced by Stephen Kearin, while female adult voices are performed by Gerri Lawlor.[1] These two actors are the inventors of the Simlish language.[2][3] Sean O' Connor, Laurel McCarl Kapros, Paul Rausmussen, Melissa Burnside Roberts and Eli Sibley perform additional voices. In The Sims: Makin' Magic, Nikki Rapp makes her debut as the voice of Child Sims.[4]

In The Sims 2 for Nintendo DS, different actors were hired from the PC/Mac version. According to the game's credits, these actors were Sean Cook, Rebecca Olson, Cheryl Platz, Geoff Card, Tony Ravo, Bill Schneider, Jay Barber and Stephanie Card, although some of the characters were sourced internally. Dan Posluns, one of the programmers, voiced Bigfoot.[7]

In The Sims 3, for the first time players are able to choose their Sim's voice, and even alter the pitch. This voice stays consistent throughout the child, teen, young adult, adult, and elder life stages (Sims who are born in-game cannot have their voices changed). Unlike The Sims 2, the teen, young adult, adult, and elder life stages all use the same voice actors.

The player can choose between three different voices in Create a Sim for most life stages, but only two for children, and one for toddlers. Only two past voice actors return; Nikki Rapp and Donna LeTourneau. New voice actors include Khary Payton, Elisa Gabrielli, William Salyers, Georgina Cordova, Nicky Ralf, Will Blagrove, Becky Boxer, William Woff and Deborah Ben-Eliezer.

In The Sims 4, there are nine voice actors who voice Sims with Simlish.[8] Some of the voice actors in The Sims 4 include Cia Court, Scott Whyte,[9] Krizia Bajos,[10] and Jessica DiCicco.[11] Other voice actors include Hynden Walch, Taylor Parks, Arianna Ratner, Patrick Seitz, and Fred Tatasciore. Nikki Rapp, who has been a voice actor since The Sims: Makin' Magic, did not return in The Sims 4 at first,[12] but later returned in February 2016.[13] In the Create-a-Sim, players can choose a voice for their sim. Toddler sims can only have the sweet voice, children can have sweet or warm voice, and sims who are teens and older can have a sweet, melodic, lilted, clear, warm or brass voice. The player can adjust a sim's voice with a pitch-slider.

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? 1. Go into cas. 2. Add a male sim. 3 add a female sim. 4. Raise male sims voice 5. Switch to female sim. 6. Switch back to the male.

What happens when the bug occurs? The voice slider returns to the middle when on the 3 masculine tones after changing it with a female sim. When there is another male sim added, or they are with another male sim only, the voice is unaffected

What do you expect to see? The slider remains where I put it even when switching between sims or exiting CAS when with a female sim

Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

Before the update I do not recall my male sims voices sliding down when with a female sim in the household if I had it up high. I had tested turning off cc, but it still occured. I only use custom content (hair, clothes, build items), and not any script mods. It's really frusating when I want to have a household made up of just a male and female sim, and want to have my male have a higher pitched voice than normal.

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Have two Sims in CAS, one with a very deep melodic voice, one with any other voice. Switch between the two.

What happens when the bug occurs? First Sim's (melodic) voices raises in pitch

What do you expect to see? Pitch staying the same

When switching from a Sim with a very low/high pitched voice to one whose pitch value doesn't go that far (and then back), the pitch of the first Sim will be raised/lowered to the second Sim's lowest/higest available pitch floating point value - i.e. first Sim's melodic voice is raised from -2.1 to -1.4/-1.6/-1.0 if second Sim has a sweet/lilted/male voice (conversly, high pitched clear and warm voices are lowered if other Sim has a female/brash voice). Happens with other voices as well, but here it's most noticeable.

Finally thought to add a bug report for this and see some others are having this happen to them. I get this exact same issue with one particular sim every single time I enter CAS for that household. I've even tried recreating the household and dropping into a new game, but the issue persists. And every time I switch between editing him and his spouse, the slider resets again and I have to readjust it before exiting CAS. I've even tried this on two different platforms just to see whether it was a console-specific error, but nope...happens everywhere.

I made a sim with the new patch, and stupidly, I made my sims while my computer was mute. I made a trans-girl, and since I couldn't hear the game, I forgot to edit the voices. So my trans-girl sounds like a beefy guy, and its weird. I went into CAS and it says something like, "You cannot change the voice of a pre-existing sim." And I cant find out how to change it. Thanks!

There are two ways, click "Ctrl alt c"land then type in the bar testingcheats true,once you do this,type in cas.fulleditmode and then it will take you to editing,once you do this,there will be a bird,candy,horn,fire, and all that you click on one and it changes the voice.the bar under it with the circle is so you can change the pitch.hope I helped!
