After some hard work, SlickTasks has been improved a lot. Now it's
time for us to do beta testing!
Let me walk you through the most significant changes at the current
state:
- You can view the number of overdue tasks on the home screen. A
visual reminder.
- Highly optimized for QWERTY keyboard. New shortcuts available: F
(Filtering), G (Grouping), T (Today), W (Weekly Planner), D (Edit due
date), Alt+I (Collapse All Tasks)
- You can add task into categories (may called 'context' - a GTD term,
in other softwares).
- You can filter tasks by category in to-do-list view (shortcut F)
- You can group tasks by some criteria (shortcut G)
- Two special grouping modes: Today View (shortcut T) and Weekly
Planner View (Shortcut W)
- Storm users: Quickly switching between To-Do View/Outline View by
performing a horizontal swipe
- Search feature is improved
- SlickTasks will provide free trial from this version.

If you want to join in beta test, just drop me an email, and remember
to let me know about your BlackBerry model, your OS version, your
device PIN (if you wish an activation code, however this version will
have a fully functional trial like MindBerry), and the most important,
how you used SlickTasks and what you feel/want about SlickTasks. My
email is datl...@gmail.com

Best regards,
Dat

Thanks very much Dat,

Thats very good of you to let us try your Beta, just putting all my tasks in to categories now, see how it reacts.

When you say "if you wish an activation code, however this version will
have a fully functional trial like MindBerry" does that mean its fully functional or will it run out, have an expiry date?

Looking forward to putting this through its paces, thanks alot.

:-)

Ok, Dat, these are major advancements, and they work really well,
thankyou. Having made a shed load of categories, these are my
findings.

When choosing a category, it would be easier to to type the first
letter (If possible, I think this will be difficult.) then it goes to
that category

Having synced with my calender, there are lots of duplicate tasks, I
have to edit them individually in to the same categories, this is
awkward.

When showing completion in child task, parent task is not synced/
updated with it.

Search only shows you were the task is, it would be easier if you
"went too" the clicked task.

When using shortcuts W (Week) & T (Today) clicking L (Alternating from
ToDoList) You can end up anywhere, would be easier to end up back at
the parent of the task or the top aff all tasks, i.e. the begining.

I'm not being critical, cause this is now an amazing application.
Love it

Thankyou.

Hope these comments make sense.

Can we tweet the fact we are beta testing or not Dat? Don't want to do
anything wrong by tweeting, if you are keeping it under wraps, so to
speak.

Yes, Mark. Just mailed you the code. From this version and so on, SlickTasks will be fully functional for a peroid of time. After that, the trial ends and you will need to enter the registration code. Code for older versions 1.x.x will not work, this a new version.

I hope this make sense, since many users would want to try it out before considering go along with it.

And, one thing I forgot to mention at first, you can add new task right on the to-do-list mode. Please try this out, too.

Dat,

Hiya

Found another glitch, cant use indent Un-indent shortcuts 6 & 4 with
the Search shorcuts S and Filter shortcuts F in place, or am I doing
something wrong.

Other than that it's superb, in my top 3 apps, Quicklaunch and
SocialScope are stealing its crown at the mo, JUST.

Dat,

You are an absolute star! Thankyou for these updates.

Can now Type a letter in Catagories/Filter, it jumps to it :-)
Sussed out the shortcut for indent & un-indent, its alt and 4 or
6. :-)
Shortcut S for search, typing what you want to find, now go's to the
Searched Task :-)

Cant figure out how the Auto Complete works in "Overall Task"/Parent,
when semi completing a child Task.
I have given them all Project Status, only the Parent Project Status,
only the Children Project Status, non of the combinations update the
Parent Auto-Complete.

Unless I am doing something wrong, off course.

One minor thing, can we have an option to change the font in "Note",
its just a tad small for me.

I've sussed Auto-Complete, Only when fully completing a Child does the
parent gets automaticley completed, not during or a certain percentage
gets completed, if that makes any sense?

Oh and when coming out of a task A "Child" in" Week", it goes back to
where you were, handy Thanks, :-)

Did I mention I love this app!

Thanks Dat.
