You are receiving this email because you are a member of the CMMR mailing list which has been established subsequent to the 2019 Oxford Models of Consciousness conference and the 2018 Progress and Visions in the Scientific Study of the Mind-Matter Relation online seminar series.

Much has happened in the past years when it comes to mathematical approaches to consciousness. So much, indeed, that we found it necessary to bring all those who contribute to Mathematical Consciousness Science -- as we are now referring to this emerging field -- closer together, and we thought that this is done best by creating a learned society devoted to mathematical approaches in the scientific study of consciousness: The Association for Mathematical Consciousness Science (AMCS).

Among the many shared goals among our members, we would like to mention only two, the goals which we personally hold to be most important:

• First, to create a community of researchers who are dedicated to exploring the role of mathematics in the scientific study of consciousness and who value open-minded, unprejudiced, and non-dogmatic research on MCS while ensuring and advocating scientific quality, honesty and integrity.

• Second, to coordinate a discussion of a shared sense of purpose, guiding questions and long-term goals of mathematical consciousness science.

Future of this mailing list:

In the process of founding AMCS, we have also created a new mailing list in order to announce events, calls for grant proposals, open positions and the like.

You’re cordially invited to join the new list! An invitation to do so will follow by email momentarily. Simply click on “Accept this invitation” in order to join the new group.

The CMMR group, over which this email has been sent, will be closed after this message. We are grateful for all the good it has brought to us over its short life. May the new group blossom, too! ;-)

We would like to thank you all for being part of this so far. It would be a pleasure for us to continue this exciting new path together with some of you!
