Happy Father’s Day to Fathers of great value

My Beloved,

Fathers of great value have great families. They are respected by their wife and their children. Everybody around them admires their family. What makes them great fathers? What makes them fathers of great value?

It is not what they have. Their pursuit of God makes them great fathers. Great fathers pursue God, and not success. They’ve understood one thing: if they pursue success, it will dry up and leave them alone.

When a woman sees a man who lays hold on God totally and would rather die than to disobey God, she knows she is safe in that man’s hands.

When a woman sees a man who would please God at any cost, who will follow God’s heights at any cost, she trembles. She knows that this man will never do anything wrong against her, because he must please God at any cost. That is her security.

But, when you are a man who can fling God aside, she knows there is no future for her around you.

You know, when you run after a woman, she will run away from you. But, if you run after God, a holy woman, and holly kids, will run after you.

Many people wonder: “How can I get my wife to love me and run after me?” They say: “I will do this to her, I will do that”. The more things they do, the more she distances herself from him.

More things done do not help weld their hearts together. In many homes where the man says “I do not know what else I should do to this woman”, he has certainly done a lot, and perhaps more than what anyone else could do.

My Beloved great fathers, let’s run after God. Let’s run after God and our wives and children will run after us. If we compromise to run after God, we will lose our wives and children. If we compromise to run after God, they will mock at us, and maltreat us. They will say “You don’t even love God enough to follow him. How can I risk my life on you?”.  

If we run after wild parties, drunkenness, bad movies, and all sort of distractions, our wives and children will also run after us, meaning after wild parties, bad movies and all sort of undisciplined distractions. And we will be wondering, “why did they go that route”. We led them there, by our own lifestyle

 

Only less than great fathers compromise running after God. When this happens, the woman and the children in their heart will know they are in total insecurity, because if you can sacrifice your God, then you can also throw them away at any moment. But, when a woman sees a man who lays hold on God totally and would rather die than to disobey God, she is safe in that man’s hands! When a woman sees that we have beheld God’s heights and have abandoned them to settle on easy plains, she hates us, because we’ve failed her.

Therefore, great fathers run after God, and run tirelessly after God.
