Yes - i know somewhat complex.

Here's what i have right now

- Minarca installed on proxmox and has IP 192.168.100.22
- backups.domain.com on NPM (another machine) is pointing to 192.168.100.22:8080 and i can enter the dashboard from anywhere
- i changed the /etc/ssh/sshd_config to be Port 9999
- on the router, forwarded 80,443 and 9999 to the pfsense, that then forwards 80&443 to NPM and 9999 to 192.168.100.22

everything seems "okay" but when i try to install the agent, with remote config i get error 27

i can provide more configs, logs, wtv but what could i be missing here?

Hello Helder,

Networking is always a bit tricky with Minarca. There are just too many ways to deploy it, so don't worry.

For error #27, take a look at this documentation:
https://nexus.ikus-soft.com/repository/archive/minarca/6.1.2/doc/minarca-client-errors.html#remoteservertruncatedheader-error-27

It provides some explanations and points you to the log files to check.

Also, did you update minarca configuration to work behind a proxy ?

https://nexus.ikus-soft.com/repository/archive/minarca/6.1.2/doc/networking.html#configure-minarca-server-for-reverse-proxy

You need to define "external-url" and "minarca-remote-host". In your case "minarca-remote-host=backups.domain.com:9999".

Well.....

after a reboot and sleeping everything now works?

LOOL

i shut the machine down and now when i boot it back up its working !

Now all i gotta figure is how to make it work with multiple disks?

maybe mount them all under /mnt/ and then have mnt/Repo1 , mnt/Repo2 , etc etc?

Hello Helder,

I'm glad it's now working for you.

Minarca is very flexible in that regard.

For a home lab, you might want to mount all disk under /backups (to separate them from unknown mount that you might create in the future. Mostly for security reason). Then you may adjust the user's root to point to the right path.

For production use, I recommend making use of ZFS and use a single dataset for all the backups.
