Yupworks for me.

My first xbox was a One S - started with FH3 but bought FH2 then FH1 later. The FH1 was only available as a 360 version but it was put on backwards compatability list many years ago so all good.

I ended up getting the steel book collectors edition today for $16 plus an extra 10% off, I thought I was going to have to return it but I did ho through the app, and that was the only way to get it installed

The disc accepter will not take a disc like it should I have to forcefully put the disc in with much resistance and that does nothing I still can't play a game or anything iv searched all over the Internet cannot find anyone with this same problem help please

Sounds like you need a new disc drive. Theses drives are one of the weak points of the Xbox Ones. Every once in a while I've found one that can be fixed but most of the time it's better to replace the drive.

For anyone else who encounters this issue: Try a hard reset by pressing and holding the power button on the console for 10 seconds, once it powers off, power it back on. Resolved the issue for me, but if that doesn't do it, repair/replacement is likely your best bet.

Ok, so I had this same problem after replacing the disc drive. It doesnt pull as well as the eject button doesnt work. I' ve tried the hard reset several times still nothing and am having no luck find any information on this.

Hey I've had this problem every once in a while for a few months now and I haven't had to replace the disc drive. I found that if you have this problem, just do the manual eject, even if there's no disc in, then try to put your disc in. This always works for me and it'll keep you from having to buy a new drive for you're Xbox. If this doesn't work then replacing the drive is probably your best bet.

I bought a used Xbox One, reset it and made a new account. I put a brand new game in "Ark Survival" but there was no option anywhere on the Xbox to play it. With or with out the game in the Xbox there is no option to play a disc or to insert a disc. Everything works very well, and as it should but I can not find this option. Will this force me to download the game from the app store and pay for it again?(didn't buy the first game from store, it is on a disc) No activation code came with the game so that is not an option to download that way.

The problem might come from disabling "Automatic updates" during console setup. Despite the Xbox running a lengthy update during installation, there were still two Microsoft Store updates that I found while troubleshooting this problem. Install both updates and game discs should automatically detect after insertion.

So I downloaded a friend pass, finished the first trial level, and bought a disc copy after. However, despite having a disc I still have only the "Trial" option and the Game says 'Purchase a full game" (disc is inside Xbox ofc). I read the FAQ which says restart the console (I have Series X), I did it many times but still can't play the full version of the game.

@FlowMike94PLGood news. I was able to solve the issue, I did many actions and I am sure that most of them weren't necessary however I will describe the whole flow (read all the steps before repeating them):

2. I've removed all Microsoft accounts from my Xbox. I had only two accounts (my GF and mine) and the trial version was downloaded from the Xbox store using one of them -- remember not just to sign out but remove accounts so you will need to enter credentials again in order to log in.

6. Sign out from your Xbox account (just sign out without removal) and restart the Xbox. During Xbox startup, you will be prompted to choose your account (the one you've used in step 3) or skip the step and proceed to the home screen. Choose skip so you won't be signed in to any of the Xbox accounts.

I think this only happens to users who played the demo first before buying the game. I read the reviews of the disc version on best buy and none of the comments mentioned this problem. I just did the steps again and the problem got fixed after.

I turned the disc "resume playback" on and off in the device and connections settings. I also cleared the persistent storage of my xbox in the blu ray device and connection settings. Not sure if these steps helped but the game started working after I played with these settings.

I just started having this problem last night. This morning, out of the SIX times I tried the steps listed here, it worked once, on try #3. Tried it again after that (for science), and it went back to not working. I'm just glad my save file isn't gone...yet.

I've been playing on an Xbox Series X this whole time, and I guess the game itself just doesn't recognize that my disc is in the console. Even when trying to start the game automatically when I insert the disc, it's only showing up as the trial/Friends Pass version. I hope there's a quick update or fix for this soon!

I am having this same problem. My son downloaded the friends pass version and then wanted the full game. I was at work for a few days so they bought the disc instead of just purchasing digital. Of course i can't take an open game back. . . .would like a fix, as the EA help said that it was because my xbox live account wasn't linked to my EA account

I have a video that I exported from Adobe Premiere Pro as an 1920x1080 .mp4, muxed using tsMuxeR, and burned to a Verbatim BD-R 25GB blu ray disc. The resulting disc will play on VLC player as intended, as well as my Xbox One, but not on my PS4 or spare Samsung blu ray player. I don't know where in the process I've screwed up, or if there's something I'm missing that would explain why the PS4 and Samsung player wont play it.

It must be down to the players not liking the BD-R you're using. If the same disc plays in some players but not others, you're not doing anything wrong. That would most likely be the fault of the hardware that is not playing the disc.

Still shouldn't have mattered. If the BDMV played on one Blu-Ray player, it would play on them all, regardless if a menu was present or not. If it was the authoring program that was the problem, then the resulting BDMV it created wouldn't play on any Blu-Ray player. But, as long as you found a solution that works, I always say that's the way to go.

Isn't the idea of getting rid of a disc drive supposed to be about shrinking the footprint? The Xbox One S (which debuted back in 2016) doesn't look any different, and it's bizarre. I'd love a super small Xbox to put on my mantle, or tuck under a TV, like a Mac Mini for gaming. This isn't it. Heck, isn't it basically the same size as the far more powerful Xbox One X?

But. BUT. The Xbox One S has gone on sale frequently, and there were holiday bundle deals last December priced as low as $199. The Xbox One S is currently retailing at $299. But even so, the only way I'd see a disc-free Xbox One S as being "less expensive" is if its everyday price went to $199 or less.

It's not like disc-based media is going away yet, either. Microsoft's Jeff Gattis even admits he doesn't see the disc going away. And Microsoft still has two other Xbox One systems that use discs. If you're buying the All-Digital version, you're basically depriving yourself of a way to play games. Maybe Microsoft will make a hard switch and go disc-free with a future Xbox, or even move to more game streaming. But the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition isn't that system.

The disc-free world is an illusion at the moment. You have many ways of buying or borrowing affordable disc games that are a great source of value, especially for a console that's years old. Going disc-free at this point is literally cutting yourself off from one way to play. And if you consider the value that can add to your gaming over time, the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition is going to end up being way more expensive for you in the long run.

I like the Xbox's games and I frequently like the bundles Microsoft makes available. But this new console is a head-scratcher. It fails to make a bold design move to appeal to the micro-console crowd. It fails to push the envelope or be a surprising budget system. Instead, it's an Xbox without a disc drive.

HelloPA5CA,

I am saddened to hear that you are still having this issue. As I mentioned I had tried all of the methods provided without success and was forced to think outside the box and discovered the solution I provided that worked for me.

I have the store purchased Version and I do not like having a disk in the drive or handling it all the time.

I have simply made a ISO file of the MSFS disk and before starting FS I simply open the image in explorer. This way the real disk is not needed and FS starts without any problems.

Your settings will not be lost, they are kept in the cloud and will be restored with a new install, provided you have the same login name.

They are also stored on your PC, and can be copied if you so wish.
