Well, WORK, yuck... I am so looking forward to the end of this month.
Just about half past Thanksgiving my eyelid begins to twitch and it
still is! Driving me nuts! Stress at work.

Desperate people really start to come out of the woodwork this time of
year. Ah well, it is almost over. Especially for me. Now, Kinzee
has a story to tell but before I turn things over to her I want to
announce I have turned in my time at the Salvation Army.

I just can't take it any more. I have been offered a job that I have
taken as of the first of the year, at a place much more exciting and
interesting. I will be able to work with different dogs, and talk to
many people, and they have a program for veterens that is very
exciting. The name of the place (as you have now probably guessed) is
Quansa.

I am so looking forward to being able to talk to people that don't
want me to pay their rent or there 5 month overdue light bill. People
that are not going to yell at me over the phone about what a terrible
and mean person I am and what is my purpose of us being there if we
won't help them.

Anyway, I can't wait to get back to the dogs again.

Now, Kinzee has a story for you....

************************************

Hi all my frens...My mom is sooo mean. Jis cause she came home from
work yesterday and found I had been a little to nosy.....I an
Airdale...I post ta be nosy!

I jis wanted ta see what was in the pretty boxes under that little
tree wif all the pretty lites. I dint even chew the toys or nutin.
just shredded the paper. Mom was so mad she spanked me REAL hard and
sent me to my room. I cud hear her stomping arond and was mad an
stuff.

I eated my supper she brought me though real nice and cleaned my dish
good an everything. Finally she come got me out of my house. She had
locked me in! Can you beleive it?? Then she made me be on that line
she puts the puppies on that can't be trusted. Of all the things!

She started yelling real loud at all that paper on the rug and slammed
the torn box on the table an....it was jis auful and scarry. After
she got all the paper picked up she made her supper and she LEFT me on
that line and I culdn't even help her eat her supper and she had
perrogies an garlic bread an she knows I luv garlic bread.

She sat at that pooter thing and ate and ignored me an I had only had
my supper and was very hungry! Then she came by me and got more paper
and stuff an was wrappin stuff up again an if I even jis looked at the
stuff she said 'u no touch' REAL loud.

The she lef the packages sit right there by me an boy I didn't dare
look at them. She sat an watched that tv box for a long time an I had
to sit there wit dem packages right by me. Finally she got up and
untied me and took my collar and made me help put the packages back
under the tree n kept tellin me 'u better not ever touch again'.

I climbed up on my couch and jis lay there nice an quiet the rest of
the night.

Tonight when mom came home from work, she was so happy to see me and
was so proud cause those darn boxes were not there as far as I was
concerned. I never went near dem an I don't care what is in dem any
more.

Oh an mom says I have to poligige to Jo, cause she called my mom jis
when she got home and Jo culd tell mom was upset by her voice and
asked what happened n when mom tol Jo she had jis killed me an threw
me to the wolves, Jo thought somethin had really happened to me. When
mom tol Jo what happen...they laughed...but I was not laughing.

Tonight mom patted the packages an tol me what a gud girl I was again,
an we got to play in the sno an I got to help mom eat her supper
again. So I am perfect Kinzee again.

bye..yur fren Kinz....

*******************************************

Ok, just wanted ya all ta know little miss perfect has her moments
too...

Looking forward to the new year and being at Quansa again and being
able to have my dog at work with me and for my eyelid to quit
twitching....

Ruby,
Congratulations! How excitng for you and Quansa--it certainly is
appropriate that Quansa's Nanny would work at Quansa. What a great
team that will benefit all as well as the Circle of Change and the
vets/dogs. This is good!

I loved your Kinzee story. The story was written so well--I can
almost visualize it. Thanks for the lesson as well as a good chuckle.

Merry Christmas.

Gee Ruby

I counted a number of I told you so's in that one, but me being so
nice, I won't even mention them. And with Kinzee being smart enough
to write a post, you would think she would be smart enough to hide the
evidence.

It sounds like you coming back to work with me is just in time; Kinzee
is just fine but I'm thinking that you NEED to spend more time out
here. Can't wait!

Oh my!! I have to add the recount of my end of the conversation!

I tried to call Ruby and no answer...must have been 2 minutes later my
phones rings and all I hear is huffing and puffing on the other end.
I'm figuring what the 'bleep' is going on? I haven't had an obscene
phone call in so long....so I said again, hello?

This voice on the other end sounded something like Linda Blair in "The
Excorcist" yet still huffing and puffing! I admit I was getting a
little concerned :-)

I hear, I just killed her! Now I'm REALLY trying to figure out who is
on the phone! I said, what? Again, 'the voice' said, I just killed my
dog! I realize now that Linda Blair isn't calling me, it's Ruby!

Then all the scenarios are running thru my head......slippery
driveway, Ruby ran over the poor dog! Slippery yard, Ruby fell on her
and killed her!

Then, I finally said, Ruby! What's happened?! She said, I just beat my
dog and thru her in her crate! Now, Ruby has had many dogs over the
years and I have to admit my mind was blank from the terror the last
30 seconds on the phone and she kept referring to "my dog"! I had to
ask her who she was talking about!!

Finally the huffing and puffing subsided and we started to have a
conversation...30 second roller coaster ride and I was exhausted!

We talked for a few minutes and she told me that she was returning to
Quansa and I couldn't be happier...happy for Ruby, happy for Pat and
Kenny and happy for all those future puppies that "Nanny Ruby" tends
to so lovingly.

Now after hearing this story, next time you see Ruby, ask her about
Tommy (or maybe it was Clint) and the training building....she's got a
million of 'em! lol

Rushing around with Christmas errands, finishing baking and getting
hair cut is on my agenda for the day but I wanted to take time to wish
everyone...

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone!!

I still have the pictures of that one Jo...somewhere?

Quansa's Nanny **************************************** Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, Airedale in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming WOO HOO what a ride!

Congratulations and good luck with the new job. I often wonder how
people who work in jobs such as you do avoid being burned out. I
guess the answer is: you don't avoid getting burned out.
Had to laugh at the Kinzee story.

Ruby,

Congrats from all of us in TX. I know you will really enjoy working at
Quansa. 2011 should be a very satisfying year.

I loved Kinzee's story. She tells stories almost as well as her
Mom :-) Sounds like she really got your message about the gifts :-)

We hope you all have a wonderful holiday and an even better New Year.

Ken, Marilyn, Smudge, and Emma
