I wanted to see it there was any interest in putting together a group without. With the Tri Wisconsin swim workouts ending it would be nice to have a semi organized workout. I'm. It offering to coach (that didn't workout so well last time) but we have resources online and such for workouts. I know I'm able to push myself harder in a group than alone. I can talk to the aquatics director if we have interest or it less organized and we can just take over a lane or two. Just let me know

Cheers, Preston

I am definitely interested in swimming with a group and I know there are other TriWI members who are qualified and interested in coaching at the Y and have offered, however, whenever I have reached out to the West Suburban Y, they have blown me off or told me there's not enough interest, even when I suggested there were a number of people looking for a class.

I saw John Lancaster there last Thursday and he seemed interested in evening swims as well.

I'm thinking it might take going above the Acquatics Director (based on my convo with a former AD there), but what do I know.

Let me know if I can do anything to help.

What about meeting at another location beside the YMCA.  I am not a member there anymore.  Hoyt Pool in wauwatosa?

Heidi and I would also be interested- makes sense to continue swimming after the TriwWI sessions end and the lake will likely be too cold.  We are also not members of the Y anymore.  The Wisconsin Athletic Club (many locations) is another venue option.  Let me know if you would like me to ask the program director.

For obvious reasons I prefer the Y but I am open to a WAC workout. I'll reach out to the Y if you want to contact the WAC. let's see where this takes us.

I am a WAC member. I offered to coach, but Ms. Jensen already coaches.

I'm saying that I'd be open to WAC workouts.

I’ve been swimming evenings and weekend mornings at the Y. However, as soon as it opens, I’ll be back at Hoyt for the summer. Now I know to look for Alison to kick my butt.

Preston, if you end up coaching, you’re welcome to plagiarize my stock workout — 4 x 500 warm up + 3 x 250 cool down. If pressed for time, drop a 500 or a 250. Maybe it’s an age thing, but I’ve come to appreciate Rob Kroll’s workout simplicity.

I would be up for Hoyt. That seems fair then everyone has to pay. I'll ask if they would do a triwi discount.

Hoyt opens on 5/24!  Pool was open at 5:30 a.m. last year. I'm not sure how available lanes are in the evening. Scott...I'm getting even more simplistic...2 K straight and done!

Diana and I would likely be up for swimming at Hoyt. We also left the Y and switched over to the WAC.

I guess that helps explain this...  :)

It's fun to stay at the W-A-C ... just doesn't have the same ring to it.  Haha.

How much does the WAC membership run?

Hey all,

I'm no longer at the Y either. I'd be interested in a group swim at the WAC but would prefer not to join the gym at this time. If there's a way to join in on the swim group, I'd consider that. Hope you're all doing well!

I just spoke with the program directors at the Northshore/downtown WAC and every night of the week except Tuesday is open right now (they schedule class's in 2 month increments) at the Northshore pool.  Not sure which location works best for those interested but they seem accommodating in letting a group swim there.  Current WAC members would swim free of charge, anyone not a member could purchase a 1 day pass per session or all the member could ask for a few visitor vouchers and you could use those.

Just throwing that out there, if you want me to do anything else with location or info let me know.

Menomonee Falls would be uber convenient for me. It's got great pools. Otherwise I'd prefer North Shore.

Jess - I still have your TriWI shirt and water bottle in my trunk from last year!  :)  Will you be out at Lannon this summer?
