A few weeks ago i mentioned at the weekly meeting that I had a job interview in Chicago for a company that goes to schools and exposes kids to engineering concepts using Legos. The company is just starting to ramp up in WI and I now have the gig, part-time to start....hopefully i'll have a management level position in 6 months or so.

The area manager I interview with mentioned specifically that she was impressed with everything i do/have done at the Makerspace, so the moral of the story is, if you want, the Makerspace can be much more than just a place to hang out & work on your hobbies; just being an active part of the community can open doors you never thought possible.

Congrats, Matt!

This is also why I bug people to write blog posts... because it creates
a (public) record of the things you do and the things you make. You'd be
surprised how it can come in handy in the future. Especially when you
get old and forget about projects you did years ago that a potential
employer may find interesting.

Sooooo, do you get a bonus if no kids choke on Legos?

But in all seriousness congrats! The makerspace is what ever you want to make it.
