Ahhh, details?

Do we have access to one?

Do we get to build our own?

I'd be interested in learning how to use it, just because it sounds cool.

Heck, I'd be willing to bring over the high speed camera as well and
show people how to use it (not that it's hard - it's a fairly old B&W
unit and rather simple, but has served us well).

What are the specs on your high speed camera?

(We use a RED ONE to shoot 120fps sometimes...)

I have access to 2 different kinds. Depends on what we would use it for. Id be willing to show how to use it and caculate emisity.

It's an old Kodak Motion Corder SR 500 - will do up to 500fps with a
shutter speed as fast as 1/20000s (you'll need a whole lot of bright
lights on the scene at that shutter speed). I generally only used it at
250fps, as going to 500fps halves the resolution from 512x480 to 512x240.

Manual for it is here:
http://high_speed_video.colostate.edu/camera_manual.pdf

Would definitely be interested in learning to calculate emissivity - at work, our needs would be more for simply detecting relative temperature differentials rather than determining specific temperatures, but I wouldn't mind knowing some of the more technical details of IR camera usage.

I should have been more clear in my previous post :D

I'm definitely interested.

Will you show us what settings work best for ghost hunting? (Sorry, I couldn't resist.)

Sure. We could start a fake buisness.

Saturday works for me, but I'm not a member, and Saturdays aren't public days if I recall.

I'd love to help make the South Bends more gooderier, assuming I have
the time - what assistance is still needed with them?

Was tickled to see that half of them have taper attachments - nice!

I don't know what the next steps are specifically, would imagine it
would be degreasing, derusting gently and paint stripping.
I'm just volunteering myself for whatever needs doing. They aren't
my lathes so I just want to help as much as I can without stepping on
phalanges.
