The only problem is the cost of sand paper. Go through it quite fast plus no one uses them properly .

OK Kevin. Go for it!

About the same. Its not the clogging thats a problem. Its the wearing through

I agree. Now if the people i work with can see that.

Tom, I will give you $50.00 tonight. I thought Kevin was getting the sander yesterday?

Set a favorite on ebay for 18" sanding discs. I use 80 grit 12" discs. Occasionally I find a good deal on ebay for discs. Even if I have a lot on hand I buy them if they are a bargain price. 80 grit works great for steel. 60 is OK but a bit harsh at first. OK once the disc wears down some. Sanding wood or aluminum fills in the disc and ruins it. Pine especially has sap and ruins a disc quickly. I have two 12" disc grinders. I use them a lot. They are very handy.

I just talked with the guy and Kevin told him he won't be able to get there until next Saturday.

Kevin, Thanks for offering to help, but this has dragged on entirely to long. Leave the money with anyone at the space, and if I have to kick in another $50.00 when I get it tomorrow morning it is no big deal.
--
I need to go to Racine tomorrow anyway, and I have a van. Thanks again.

I went to Burlington today and picked up the sander. We had to partly disassemble it to fit in the van. I reassembled it and cleaned it up a little. I mounted the motor with some vice grip clamps and fired it up. It works great, however Rich or Brant or Tom GR or Ron should take a look a it before it goes into general use.

We are going to leave it alone. I thought you were going to use a floor buffer on your project.

It looks like a rifle stock. I'm not sure it is attached to the sander.
