I'm waking up my dormant Sourdough Starter for Fall & Winter cooking and baking.
It is a symbiotic culture of wild yeast and Lactobaccilus beasties.
It produces uniquely flavored artisan bread as well as pancakes, waffles, tortillas, muffins, biscuits, and all sorts of delicious baked goods.
This particular starter comes from Carl Griffith, whose ancestor or ancestress was a cook on a wagon train in 1847 on the Oregon Trail.
If anyone wants some free starter, let me know and bring an 8 oz (or larger) nonmetallic container to the meeting this Tuesday and next Tuesday.
Thanks,
Mike Tarnowski
