Hi everyone-
I recently took my riding mower out of the shed.. started up normal/fine.. and I stepped on 'reverse' pedal to get it out of shed. After that,… the forward/reverse pedal stop working?
The mower starts each/every time
The blade works/spins when engaged..
However.. I can not move it forward or reverse any longer? (why? what happened?)
I never took any tires (so I don’t see any 'square key' things being an issue)
I removed battery and battery case.. to see all belts look to be in place (but the trans/drive belt does not engage/move?)
I do -not- think it is a brake issue.. as when pulling the wire/link to put it in neutral..it rolls fine.. (had to push it back into shed.. and rolled fine then as well)
The riding mower is a Poulan Pro 42" 19HP (Poulan PRO PP19A42) I believe… and is 5 years old (2018 delivery)
While open to suggestions to look at things… also wondering where does one get help for this type of stuff? (anyone looking for a little $? or know of a mechanic to come fix things perhaps?)
Appreciate all suggestions/feedback (help) J
Thanks!
-Jerry

Thanks Tony, Sam & Adam for the responses.
Basically in the end.. everyone was right. "belt".
Good thing.. was not broken.. but had (somehow?) slipped off a pulley when reversing out of the shed.
I saw these videos on YouTube:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCQKU25aMaA
When I removed my battery/housing.. I happen to notice MY belt was not as tight as the one looked in the video. Traced it..and found that it had slipped off a pulley… (although wasn’t dropping down enough to notice by itself)
Took a bit to 'guess' the belt route/placement.. but slipped it I n and when started up.. it actually moved both forward & reverse (WOO HOO)
Finally got the lawn mowed last night (even though got dark quick) J
