A while ago I got a old Milwaukee hammer drill from my father in law. It works fine except the drill chuck is siezed up with rust. I cleaned it up as best I could and started at it with penetrating oil, no dice. I then thought about heating it up, but I can't really go at it because I don't want the heat to damage bearings/plastic. I haven't been able to figure out how to remove the chuck either. So, I tried just leaving the whole thing in some motor oil for about a week and that also didn't work.
Ideas?

The two best penetrants I have used are Kroil and PB Blaster. Kroil is viewed, in the restoration business, as one of the best for old rusty parts.
I would actually tap it with a hard hammer, just not hard enough to nick the chuck. What you are trying to to is make the parts vibrate so the oil can penetrate.

Tom is right on penitrents, if the chuck is open far eunph to see screw at btm, pull out the screw and chuck should unscrew counter clock wise. It needs a quick snap to release it. then put new one on..
