Obvious next step: Make sure we're set up to accept new members
(by Tuesday?)

Also: Getting the panel saw into the wood shop is going to be tricky
(similar to getting it into Tom's truck). We should do it when there are
extra people around. Too bad we didn't think to spec a taller doorway...

We need to decide where we need electrical outlets so we can get started
on that. The metal shop needs at least two 3-phase outlets, and the wood
shop needs one (for the disk sander). I'm not sure what the welders
need-- I thought they were marked 480V 3-phase. Can they run on 208, or
do we need to run 480V circuits from the main panel?

We also need outlets for the tables in the office area, and for the
drinking fountain outside the bathrooms.

BTW have we located the VFDs that we were going to use on the lathe
and the mill?

Also, it would help if we could locate the rest of the hand tools. I
think they might be on a pallet that's on the top level of the pallet
racks.

Matt N and Matt W are already talking with Tom about a layout for the power, so that is being taken care of.

The layouts in the shops anyhow, the water fountain and such still need to be discussed.

Next step?

I'd like to get in touch with everyone who has been wanting to stop by, or take a tour, or join, and invite them on Tuesday.

Right? Yes? OK?

Can we have a regular Tuesday night meeting next week?

I want to join...  Or at least attend the meetings and see what's it's like.  Sadly, I won't be able to make it this Tuesday, but I will be able to make it next Tuesday.

It's open for new members every Tuesday/Thrusday, correct?

Thanks!

Tuesday and Thursday are open to the public. If you just want to sign up or get a tour, that can possibly be arranged some other day if the right people are free.

Also-- electricity for the air compressor, and air lines back into the
shop area.

Thanks - I may need to do that.  Tuesdays and Thursdays are the worst days of the week for me!

We have already listed so many projects and ideas that we should make a wik page to organize then all! Perhaps it can list reach area, who is on charge of it, and what the projects and required materials are.

Excellent Blog Posting, Pete!

Look, I've made a wiki page with some of the projects we've talked about in this thread.

If we all add details on what we'd like to see in which areas, and who has equipment they have already donated, or could donate to each area, that would be great.  Anyone who wants to help organize an area can add their name to the relevant wiki page section as well!

Excellent!

This weekend I'll attach the Access Sever to the sparkly new wireless network and get the key reader installed on a machine in the office area. Then it will be a snap to manage Access Control via the web page.

I would add, area for etching circuit boards.
Should that be combined with the darkroom?

Also-- audio system should include some kind of PA system.

Also-- audio system should include some kind of PA system.

That's why the volume control goes to 11.
