The Journey:
Installing the ICY DOCK MB996SP-6SB and using two available SATA ports
on a Dell XPS 8500 worked while waiting for the Actimed 6-Port PCIe SATA
3.0 expansion card.
After installing the Actimed 6-Port PCIe SATA 3.0 expansion card using
six locking latch SATA cables the computer would not boot. Black screen
with no error messages displayed.
Did I break my computer?
Removed the Actimed 6-Port PCIe SATA 3.0 expansion card an the computer
booted.
Phew, dodged a bullet.
Removed the SATA cables from the Actimed 6-Port PCIe SATA 3.0 expansion
card and plugged it in and the computer booted.
One step forward.
While removing the cables from the Actimed 6-Port PCIe SATA 3.0
expansion card I noticed that one did not lock properly. Replaced the
cable and the computer booted and the two installed hard drives are
available.
