I bumped into the following YouTube video today explains the basics of
computer network communication while comparing Token Ring to Ethernet.

My journey to 4K video began with the purchase of a GoPro Hero 10 camera
and editing drone video for a friend. My laptop computer had a 4K output
so I went shopping for a 4K monitor. My laptop computer has Nvidia
graphics for high resolution graphics so I looked for a monitor that
supported G-sync. To avoid video issues I have always used AMD graphics
cards in my desktop computer. After a bit of research I purchased a 27"
LG Ultragear UHD Nano IPS monitor. This works great with both of my
computers but the story does not end there. I have had intermittent
video lockups while the audio keeps playing and the computer does not to
keyboard or mouse input. Searching the logs I found GPU errors in
syslog. Is this a hardware or software issue? Since it is easier to
replace the hardware I took this opportunity to upgrade to a 4K AMD GPU.
I purchased a XFX Radeon RX 580 GTS GPU, backed up my desktop computer,
installed the GPU with only one issue. All the text was so small that it
was hard to read. I am running Pop!_OS 22.04 LTS so I enabled Fractional
Scaling and decided 150% worked the best for me. The Thunderbird email
program did not follow the system font scaling so I changed the font
size by doing to the menu bar > View > Font Size to adjust it.
I am on the second day without a video lock up so I may have solved my
problem.
